I got one for each day of the week at daycare because I don't trust them to adequately apply sunscreen. These are really light weight, more so than UV Skinz baby zip up hoodie (which is what I tried first - easier/cheaper to have one add on layer than need to buy 5 outfits esp since I had already bought a summer wardrobe that now she only wears on weekends - if Shedo Lane made a baby hoodie I'd buy it!) The UV Skinz felt more like a "light weight end of normal" long sleeve t-shirt and I just couldn't see it as a second layer in true summer heat. These feel more like a sheer material would, except they obviously are not sheer. I sized up hoping to get 2 years of wear and you can easily fold up the cuffs (except on the leg where the zipper goes down to the bottom, but the cuffs have some snugness to them so the legs stay up at the ankle). For crawling, the sizing up works less well and her feet tend to get lost in the legs, so daycare tends to really roll up the legs when she's inside. For reference, she is a tiny 12 mo old at 28.5" tall and 16.5 lbs wearing the 18-24 mo size, which is definitely big on her but workable-ish with the goal of using for two seasons. The looseness I think actually works for breathability. I wish that the hood had a brim (like hats with wide brims for sun, so that it could be a one and done) - maybe a removable one that snaps on so baby can still sleep in it but can't remove it on their own. Quality is good, no rips; light colors do stain easily and the zipper hoods tend to get scrunched over and not always cover the zipper end. I have red, navy, yellow, gray, blue, and lime green and the yellow is actually the cutest where we get the most compliments! The lime green is kind of glaring.
